Guitar Lessons

If you’re looking for quality free lessons, drop everything and head to JustinGuitar.com. I found his site when I was doing a Google search for tutorials on how to change strings on my electric guitar and bumped into this video made by Justin (he made a strong recommendation for DR guitar strings in the video). After viewing the video, I headed over to his site, and I was thoroughly impressed by the guitar lessons offered there (some are paid products but most are free) – hope you enjoy the visit too.

Guitar Scales

Guitarists.net: This has to be the best tool for practicing scales. You select a root note and then a scale type, and the site automatically shows you the notes for the scale for all fret positions. They also let you print out the scales.

Scale types run the whole gamut – you’ve got Major, Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, Locrian, Melodic Minor, Dorian b2, Lydian Augmented, Lydian Dominant, Hindu, Locrian #2, Super Locrian, Harmonic Minor, Locrian #6, Ionian #5, Dorian #4, Phrygian #3, Lydian #2, Alt bb7, Harmonic Major, Dorian b5, Phrygian b4, Lydian b3, Dominant b2, Lydian Augmented #2, Locrian bb7, Natural Minor, Major Pentatonic, Minor Pentatonic and Blues Box.

… more to come …
