My personal review of the course isn’t going to be done in the usual manner.

As I have previously mentioned in my post about Dan’s Blues Guitar Secrets, I prefer to point readers to resources that actually showcase Dan’s skills as a guitar player and as a teacher.

I believe this is crucial because only you are in the position to judge whether “Dan the Guitar Teacher” has what it takes to make you a better guitar player.

I could go on and on about how great and excellent Dan and the course are, but it wouldn’t mean squat if you can’t “connect” with the lessons.

You’re probably wondering why I didn’t just start with a full-blown review of the course.

There are a number of reasons, but the most important one is this:
It Really Doesn’t Matter What My Opinion Is To The Success Of Your Blues Learning Journey.

Guitar courses are notorious for receiving rave reviews from one group of students, only to get two thumbs down from another.

You have to realize that no single guitar course satisfies the needs or expectations of all students. We all come in at different experience levels, and with different sets of skills.

Personally, I’d rather review the teacher to get a better idea of the quality of the content that I can expect before I purchase any material from them.

In this respect, Dan has made it extremely easy for you to “review” him, because he’s published a ton of blog posts and free video lessons online.

I don’t know of any other guitar teacher who’s gone this far in being willing to display their playing and teaching skills (or lack thereof) for all to see.

So, without further ado, here’s a list (or catalog if you will) of what I think are Dan’s best blues videos, sample tracks and lessons, related blog posts, and my own summary of them. Hopefully, this will help you know for sure whether Dan’s the right blues guitar teacher to hand your money over to.

Jam track from BGS
This is the second track from the Jam CD (included in the $159 version of the package) that can be downloaded as an mp3 file, and you also get a peek into the tablature that’s written for that track (again, included in the Jam Tracks course book which is part of the $159 package).

In this track, Dan covers a typical 12-bar blues: 4 bars of I, two bars of IV, two bars of I, one bar of V, one bar of IV, one bar of I, one bar of V (a “turnaround”). The quality of the material is excellent, as the professionally-recorded backing music sounds like a full band (I even hear a bass guitar in there) and is certainly something you’d want to play on your sound system at full blast and play along to.
